After 7 months of waiting, we received a letter from Nova Scotia stating that they transferred our application papers to their London Office for further processing. We have until August to submit additional documents.

Hey trinatocanada,

That's good news. Did you ever check your status on ECAS? I'm wondering how long Nova Scotia actually took to make the initial assessment. From your trackitt post it would appear that Sydney's letter took nearly a month to reach you.

hi zednought,

good news indeed :) in a nutshell, this is my timeline so far:

Initial Application received in London - 16 October 2008

Transferred to Nova Scotia - 16 October 2008 (letter states that they sent my application to NS on the same day that they received my application in London)

Nova Scotia started processing - 3 March 2009

Nova Scotia wrote the letter - 16 April 2009

Sent application back to London - 21 April 2009

I received the letter for updating docs - 12 May 2009 (letter states my deadline is exactly 120 days from the letter's date)

In summary we can say that NS started processing 5 months after receiving my file from London. They finished processing around 6 weeks, that is including the time they took to write the letter and to send it to London. London office took 3 weeks to send me the letter.

how bout you zed? how far along are you?

ECAS states that Nova Scotia started processing my file 23 March 2009. So, I'm at least 20 days behind you.

I'm hoping I'll get my 120 day letter by the end of this month, but who knows? I guess you're going to be busy putting your docs together :))

Best of luck.

hi pammi,

i applied with NOC 3142 (Physical Therapist) which is on the list, thankfully.
on ecas my status says "in progress".

i sat for the academic ielts exam last march because that is what my physio license in canada requires from me. i know that canadian immigration requests for the general IELTS but i sent them an email asking if my academic IELTS will suffice. And they said that it was alright to submit my academic results provided that i attain the required scores. thankfully i got the scores i needed so i am opting to send them my academic results instead of taking the general ielts.

i am positive you will hear from them by the end of this month or mid june at the latest. we should keep in touch since our files seem to be in tailing one another, so is zednought's.

here's to up and coming good news!

Hi all

I have filed my application on 7th july 08 & my application got processed on 27th july 2008 but my case is not under 38 list but i have 10 year experince in my field as a bookkeeper . on ecas my status shows that my application has been transferred to nova scotia & ns may contact me . it still showing the same I have seen on this forum that many applicants applied after 4-5 month from me but they recd their results as decision made beacause they are not under 38 list .
can any body tell me that when i will recd my result . is this a positive sign that i have not recd my rejection yet. please advice me

Hi Pammi,

Yes i have sent my documents for credentialling to the Alliance of Physios in Canada about two months back. They are still processing my papers as the required documents from my university seems to be taking forever to reach them. I'm not familiar much with the process in CAOT, but my colleague took it last year and she said that the process for OTs is much simpler than for us physios. So that's good news for you :) I am currently in Abu Dhabi and have been here 4 years working as a PT for a government hospital. We should definitely keep in touch. No problem as i often visit this website.

Hi Malli,

It does not surprise me that your letter from NS is taking longer than the applicants who applied months after you. Seems like the applications that were filed nearing and right after Nov. 27, 2008 took a lot faster to process (whether rejected or not). Those that applied earlier (march 08 to october 08) have only started to receive word a few weeks back. So be patient and I'm sure they will contact you soon enough.

Although I hate to be the bearer of bad news, most of those who applied after february 08 whose occupations were not in the list of 38, got their applications rejected. So hope for the best but expect the worst. Start working on a Plan B. There are other ways to achieve permanent residence in Canada.

Regards to all,
Trina

Dear Trinatocanada

Can you please let me know from where you have confirm that you can use your IELTS Academic Results in your PR application.

My case is same as i am a Nurse by profession and had just process my PR. I got excellent rating in Academic IELTS and woundering from where to check and get the confirmation regarding submission of Academic IELTS score instead of sitting in General Test again.

Your earliest reply in this regards will be higly appreciated.

Regards

Bobby123

Hi Bobby123,

My immigration lawyer emailed them in my behalf and he said that it was perfectly alright to use my academic ielts as long as i reached the required scores. My colleagues who have submitted their documents way before me, also opted to submit their academic ielts and no rejection letters for them so far.

No problem with me sitting the general ielts, but practicality in our situation calls for some attention doesn't it? I would hate to pay for a second ielts fee.
