well time is running out , i hve a long story to tell here my program of studies may be starting after some time and I hve a big question in my mind that who ever goes to canada may hve to stay somewhere , where would i stay , i mean is there any easiest of way joining an accommodation there straight to there or its a real struggle as don't like crowded hostels but i hve to stay at somewhere near my college as i don't like to travel by bus , i like to travel on my own conveyance excluding bicycle i.e , so what about hving ur own conveyance there which car is most affordable there , what min it may cost , also is Pakistani International driving license useful there as i heard it may require a big insurance for an intl. license gained in Pak to b used in canada , is this right . explain appropriately and no cheek shot :-

Secondly your Pakistani driving license is not valid here, Canadians know you can pay for anything in Pakistan and get it. Therefore you will have to redo driving test here again and pass it.
Well firstly universities and colleges offer dorms to live in. If you need to be somewhere outside the dorm then checkout craigslist website. A lot of people post shared accomodation therepiratesparade said:

to be honest dude, you can get cars here as cheap as $500 but you gotta watch out for insurance. From my experience american cars are cheaper on insurance since they are considered domestic. Try though route and then you gotta shop around for insurance cause it aint cheap

if u have pak driving licence u + visa u can get intl driver licence in 5 days from pakistan, which is valid in canada too for up to 2 years

FOR Islamabad Issued Drivers license following is the procedure.
Submit the following documents to the Head Clerk General after obtaining the Application Form
Application Form
Copy of Valid Pakistani Driving License
Rs.30/- Stamp to be pasted on the Application Form
Valid Passport
Valid Visa
Computerized NIC
Residential proof of Islamabad
2 Photographs (size 1x1)
After necessary approval by District Magistrate the International Driving Permit is issued

INTL DL is endorsed by UNO.
it is atleast valid for one year from the date its issued. if u are on TRV
