Hi guys

First of all thank you very much for the useful information. As many of you I also plan to continue my study in Canada but I'm not sure which is the right course to choose. I have a bachelor degree in International Business Relations and I really wanted to take a master degree at some of the universities in Toronto, but I have realized that is very expensive and they all require a GMAT score for business programs. Because I want to start my studies in May, I don't have time to take the gmat test and I have decided to go for a postgraduate certificate at some college in Canada. my questions are:
1) Do you know which colleges offer good postgraduate certificate programs-it will be very good if internship is included.I want to apply at Humber College for Global Business Management program but I read really bad things about this, So now I'm confused:(
2) Are you eligible to apply for PR if you take scholarship( somebody told me that if you take scholarship while you are studying you won't be able to apply for PR after finishing your studies)?
3)Also when applying at college and for study permit do I need a transcript from my bachelor degree or translated copy is enough?
4)When do I need to apply for work permit? after my arrival there or from my home country?
5)My partner is coming with me so he wants to apply for work permit-should he apply from his country?
(any experiences from people with similar cases would be a great help)

Looking forward for your responses
thank you very much

Hi,

1. A lot more option shall come with a good GMAT score. Think again.

2. Instead, you are NOT eligible for a PGWP in case of a state sponsored scholarship (not a University scholarship)

3. You need a photocopy of original marksheet & degree certificate.

4. You need a work permit + study permit ONLY if you take a co-op/internship based program. You can apply either at your homeland or on your arrival in Canada. You need a LOA which lists the details of the co-op program.

5. Your partner need to apply for a TRV. Eligible to get OWP based on spouse study permit which shall remain valid upto the duration of a study permit. If you are from a visa exempt country, skip the TRV part.

Dear enfield

1)I'm aware that there are more options with GMAT, but I really don't have time to prepare myself for the test as i want to start in May. My plan is to apply for a postgraduate certificate and then transfer to some University to get a master degree.I know it will cost more money this way, but I think this is the only option for now.
2) About the scholarship- this means that I can apply for University scholarship and still be able to apply for PR after the studies?
One last thing:
What is LOA?
And can you recommend some of the colleges?

Thank you so much for your help:)

If you are a legitimate student you will stay away from places like "Humber college" this is not a legitimate or reputable college or place of study, this is merely a way for people to get a student visa and move to Canada, likely never to go back.

Would you be so kind to recommend some good colleges in Toronto?

Thanks

Hi,

2. Yes, you are eligible. All I said you are not eligible for a Post Graduate Work Permit in case of a state sponsored scholarship.

3. LOA: Letter of Acceptance, OWP: Open Work Permit & PGWP: Post Graduate Work Permit.
