Hi,
I'm collecting information to apply for PR for my husband. I am Canadian, but we live in Holland now. I have a couple of questions:
1. Do we send our completed application to Mississauga or to our European CIC office? (Berlin)
2. To prove our relationship we are asked to include two statutory declarations from individuals with personal knowledge of our relationship. Usually statutory means signed by someone such as a doctor, lawyer, etc. Is that also the case here? Do we have to use a particular type of form for the declaration?
3. medical exams are only valid for 1 year. What if the application process takes longer than that? Will another medical exam have to be compelted?
4. Ditto for the police check?

Thanks for your help...

1 you need to snd it to Mississauga
2 you can have just letters from friends stating that they know you are togther and things like that
3 if the medical exam expires before u get ur PR then you will have to do another one ,
4 i dont understand what u mean by this question but if u are asking abt police check , then u need to include one in ur file .

Hi Ange,

I am also Canadian, living in Britain married to an englishman. I originally sent our application(s) to Mississauga for sponsorship. They took no time at all to turn it over and approve it. (a matter of a day) In April '08 the application was sent to London for my husband's PR. We had included his medical and police check with the application as per our lawyers request. We're still waiting on London for his PR. The medical expired last month but we have not been notified that it needs to be re-taken, although we are assuming it will need to be at this point. Ditto with the police check. No news is good news maybe??

Best of luck to you and your husband. Are you relocating to Toronto?

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
If you are sponsoring from Holland, you also need to include some proof to immigration that you are planning to live in Canada when the husband gets PR. This could be something like statements from family and friends who know your plans, statements that you will have a place to stay, job offers, acceptance to university, something like that.

You could also include a bit more proof than 2 statements of your relationship. Maybe if you are married for years and years, it's ok but otherwise it might be a good idea to include some other proof, joint bank account, joint bills, joint lease, photos etc.

Thanks for your information so far.
A lot of the information I have (such as our lease agreement and joint-bank account information) is in Dutch. will that have to be translated? And if yes, by a certified translator?
