Hi, so just going through the motions of filling out my application and I have a few questions.
1. When filling out the date I last entered Canada it has from and to, now I am still in Canada so what do I put on the to box? Do I put the date that I sign the form, or do I just leave this blank?
2. Similar to question 1, but in my background declaration do I put my current address or job at the top of the respective box? and if so what to I fill out for the to field?
3. Do most people include a cover letter in the application? If so what do you normally write?
4. In IM1344 it asks the date that I entered the common law relationship, do I write the date that we started living together, or do I write the date that is a year after we started living together i.e the date that we officially became common law for immigration purposes?
5. I am getting 2 statutory declarations from friends and family in Canada and one from my father who lives in Australia. Do the declarations have to be written after we have been together for a year?
6. So with my application I will be including the following:
15 photos with captions explaining when and where they were taken (we don't take a lot of photos unfortunately)
5 letters from friends and family verifying the true and loving nature of our relationship
3 statutory declarations, 2 of which will be done in Canada and one by my Father in Australia
Copies of all bills that have my partners name and this address
Copies of statements from our joint account
Statutory declaration of common law union
Joint lease with me and my partners name on it (although it's a fresh lease as my old landlord lost the lease that my partner was added to last year so when my building was sold it was not transferred to the new owner)
Letters of explanation pertaining to the lease which is freshly signed as my landlord lost my old lease (one from the previous building owner and one from the new owner)
Letter explaining how we met, trips we've been on together, family events we've attended together, plans for the future together etc.
Letter explaining why we think we make a good couple
Declaration that I have severed my previous common law with my ex (ended in 2006)
Is there anything else that I should be adding to strengthen our case? Do you think what I'm providing will be enough?
