Hi everyone! Thanks in advance for any advice and help.

My girlfriend and I are currently living here in Canada, and we'll soon be applying for a common law sponsorship.
She is from South Korea and has been here for almost a year. We're looking at all the requirements, and I have a few questions.

Regarding birth certificates and national identity cards, do we need hers as well as her parents? We have no intentions currently on her parents coming over, but do we still require them? The phrasing on the website is a little odd.

Also, any general advice for the process/on how we should fill out the forms? Would a lawyer make a significant difference?

Thank you again!

Yes it certainly would. It would make it a lot more expensive, you will have to answer all the questions anyway and all the lawyer will do is check them and charge you a lot for doing so. :D :D

Seriously though, the CIC website has an excellent step-by-step and question-by-question guide to all of the forms and attachments. Where anything is unclear, you can always post specific questions here.
