I'm initially working in a NOC B position for about 5 months, and later switched to a NOC A position for 7+ months.

Which position should I apply under CEC, how will they categorize my application ?

Thanks in advance.

You apply under both NOC numbers (B and A) with two employment letters (if your work was done under two different employers). Just keep in mind that the results of your IELTS or CELPIP must be like for NOC A.

Second that. Work experience can be combined and won't be an issue if well documented. Ie experience letters, paystubs etc.
And as nov1061, your language test results have to be equal to the NOC A requirements.
