I recently moved in Canada. Am staying as a roommate. My name isnt there in the lease agreement.
Does my paystubs/bank statements good enough for proving my residency obligations/citizenship request later??

No one knows what the RQ regime will be when you apply for citizenship in 3-5 years....the current 3 year timeline is bound to get increased IMHO based on the 2015 election.

Historically CIC place little value on 'passive' indicators of presence including leases, bank statements and pay stubs...you can have these even if you are not in Canada. They look at the overall situation such as if you are employed full time and pay taxes for a bona fide company...in this instance your pay stubs and statements would be part of the evidence considered. However if you were a self employed consultant with multiple travels..they may investigate into your declared absences more.

Active indicators of residence include proof of medical billing e.g dentists, lab work, opticians etc since you are likely the person having that root canal not your friend/ relative that has your bank card and pretends to be you using it in Canada!

Even Lease agreement is not consider as proof of residence, when CRA sent a letter to me, in their very first letter they mentioned "Tenant agreement will not be considered as proof of your residence for child benefit. However, a letter from you Landlord with his full name, address and telephone number confirming the period of your tenancy would be required" - this was only one of the requirement out of six other.

So do not count on lease agreement as they may not accept it as proof of residency.
