90 day letter

Hello all, I am just curious to find out what it is that hte CIC normally requests in the 90 day letter. Also, do they always send out a 90 day letter, or are there cases that are approved without sending the 90 day letter. I know that it is now 120 days instead of 90 days.

Hi AKK, basically before your PR is approved, the CIC may send you a 90 day letter. It is now known as the 120 day letter, whereby CIC asks you for proof of certain documents. I am curious to know what documents that they may ask for. I have applied under the AINP - skilled worker route.

Is this '90 days letter' the AOR?
How is that 'now known'? The forms I sent to CIC said that it could take up to 90 days to send AOR and request for medicals....and not 120. Is that what you are talking about? Where did you see that?

If you are applying as a provincial nominee, once you have your nomination certificate, you will complete your PR application with all your documents and send it to your visa office. If nothing is missing or incomplete, they should not have to send you a letter asking for any further documents.

In the case you are applying as a skilled worker, you are not supposed to send your documents. You are supposed to send an application to Sydney, NS for pre-approval and they will then forward it to the visa office which will send you a letter saying you have 90 or in some cases 120 days to send them your documents.

So basically the ''90 day'' letter has to do with Federal skill and not Provincial nominee

Ok, so then just to clarify....I submitted my application to AINP under the skilled worker category. Therefore, are you saying that if I have provided everything that CIC is asking for (when it comes to preparing the docs for CIC) I should not get a 90 day letter?

jammy123 When you submit your application to CIC as an AINP nominee, assuming everything is correct, you'll get an AOR and medical request after about 2 or 3 months of submitting your application. Mine was 2 months.
