Hi everyone! :)

Im just wondering about the 730 day requirement for the residency obligation. Should it be a straight 2 year period or it can be accumulated as long as you reach 730 days within 5 years? I am planning to visit my parents once a year. Im just worried if its going to be a straight 2 year period cos that means i wont be able to see them. :(

Another thing is i am going home twice this 2014 however i just received my pr card. Do i get a penalty for that? Will that affect my application for a citizenship? Thank you

**Your forum is so helpful.. Thanks for all the Infos :-*

No - the 730 days doesn't have to be continuous. You just need to accumulate 730 days of residency (2 years) every five rolling years.

To qualify to apply for citizenship, you must have 1095 residency days (3 years) in the last four years. Again, they don't have to be continuous.
