6 months without my passport?????????!!!!!!

Hi there,

I've just received an email from the Canadian embassy in Rome (the one who is processing my PR application) where they're asking my passport to proceed with the final review. I was waiting for this email for so long, bu now I'm reading that my Visa will be issued for entry to Canada before next August, 2013!! What??!!! Am I suppose to wait for other 6 months to get the PR (which already is 3 months behind the normal processing time) and staying without my passport for so long? Are they crazy? What if I've to get back home for an emergency or I want to go somewhere on vacation? 6 months without my passport???!!?? seriously????

Possibly they are saying that your visa will be issued which permits you to enter Canada ( or land ) before August 2013. I cannot guess any thing else what they mean without reading the whole letter. However, I don't think they would keep the passport for 6 months.

Hey man i am in the same boat as you, but i have not received any PR until now. i have sent my medical exams on 3 January 2013. Has been 2 and a half Month waiting for PR. How log it took you from medical exams to Passport Request? It seems Rome Embassy is too slow.
