I have to travel to US & India for work and will be returning to Canada at the end of the year. I am a PR in Canada. My Indian passport expires in April 2016. Do I need 6 months (Indian) passport validity to come back to Canada at the end of December? Thanks
Not for purposes of Canadian immigration. You are a Canadian for purposes of Canadian immigration. A valid PR card is the only travel document you need to travel to Canada, and even then if you can otherwise reach a Canadian POE, what really matters is being able to establish your identity and status. If at the POE you establish you are who you are, and the computer system confirms your status, you will be allowed to enter Canada.
Travel to or from countries, however, is governed by the law of that country. This can include transiting through a country. For example, how long your passport must be valid for may affect your capacity to leave India or to travel through the U.S. This would not be about Canadian law, but about the law of India or the U.S., respectively.
But for purposes of being allowed to enter Canada, the valid PR card suffices.
