Hello ,
although haven't received the VR yet it appears like we got our extension approved . and since they are multiple entry"s now we are assuming it is multiple............ so when my Canadian citizen wife and I came home to Canada , we had to put some of my belongings at the border , we did make an itemized list of everything that was in storage ,including serial numbers ,place of manufacture, date of manufacture etc , any how with the PR application in progress and a multiple entry VR are we able to go get some items out of storage , or would this potentially complicate or derail our situation , we were advised with the single entry not to leave with the pr in place etc , and i seen else were in this forum someone suggested a negative effect of traveling outside Canada with a PR app in progress

You're still only allowed to visit Canada - not live here. So I would keep your things in storage until you have PR. If you bring the household items into Canada while you are still a visitor then there's a good chance you will end up paying duty on them. You can avoid the duty if you bring these items in once you have PR. Also, while you're still a visitor, there's always still some chance (no matter how slight) that you could be refused entry. Coming with a car full of personal belongings as a visitor has the potential to create challenges when you enter Canada. Wait until you're a PR before you actually "move".

ok understood , since we got turned around at the border the first time with a whole u-haul lode of stuff , we had to quickly put it all in storage and yes the items we did bring through we had to pay duty on , but there is a box with some dress cloths for church and shoes etc and a desk chair , was thinking of making a trip with the wife and her being able to claim the chair toward her 800 dollar allotments , do you mind me asking what kind of issues come to mind , im not one to push the envelope on such an important thing as being with my wife .

If your wife can go alone - then I suppose she can try it (although I would recommend against it). Note that to qualify for the $800 exemption, she must be in the US for a full 24 hours or more. She is going to be saying that your stuf is hers which is lying. So the worst case that could result in a fine (on top of having to pay duty) and she could end up flagged in perpetuity for border crossings. If she's flagged, she will be examined more closely every time she crosses the border back into Canada. I have a friend who is flagged because he lied coming back into Canada once. He calls it one of the worst mistakes of his life because border crossings are so much more complicated for him now.

If you need to go with her - then I wouldn't try it. Worst case scenario the border official may not like what you're doing (i.e. your wife misrepresenting your belongings as her own) and refuse you entry into Canada. Probably not worth the risk for some clothes and a chair. But it's obviously your choice.
