Hi guys,

If I just only have work experience in Canada, the maximum points I can get under skill transferability section is just 50 point, even I had 2 years experiences and IELTS band 9 according to CRS calculator from CIC. Please advise.

Thanks,

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Unfortunately, yes. You'll get zero points on the factor that combines Foreign work experience with Canadian work experience.

You can get more points for your education + IELTS combination also. Ex. CLB 9 and Two or more post-secondary program credentials can get you the additional 50 points.

So that means if I have 1 year international experience and 1 year Canadian experience with IELTS band 9 and 2 degrees, I will score more 50 points than 2 year Canadian experiences. I just don't understand why CIC treats it differently. Is that fair?

I try to use CRS tools to calculate my 2 years Canadian experiences with IELTS band 9 and 2 degrees, it just give me maximum of 50 points in Skill Transferability section.

I just checked the criteria again.

Education + IELTS 50 points
Education + Canadian exp 50 points
But this total is capped at 50

Then
Education + Foreign exp 50 points
Foreign + Canadian 50 points
This is capped separately at 50 points

Both your 50 is in the first 2 categories, so you are not getting the full 100.
But you are getting 35-56 points in core-human capital category for your canadian experience.

Hello friends,

I will be applying next month as I am waiting for my credential assessments, I have found some details on skill transferability & hope this might be of some help to everyone...

Many people are confused about how the 100 point maximum "skill transferability factor" in express entry is calculated. Points in this category can be obtained by COMBINING two of your background factors, such as your level of education and your language experience.

It is broken down into two categories (I name them "A" or "B") of 50 points maximum each:

Category A: Your level of education must be combined with:

Official Language Proficiency (s 21) - maximum of 50 points
Canadian Skilled Work Experience (s 22) - maximum of 50 points
Category B: Your foreign skilled work experience must be combined with:

Official Language Proficiency (s 23) - maximum of 50 points
Canadian Skilled Work Experience (s 24) - maximum of 50 points
Note that even though you may be able to score over 50 points in either category A or B, it will be rounded down to 50 points maximum for each category. So for example, if you score 63 points in category A, and 25 points on category B, you will get a final score of 75 for skill transferability (63 is rounded down to 50 plus 25 from category B).

CATEGORY A
Combo 1: Combination of level of education and official language proficiency

If you have:

Strong first language skill (assessed overall from 4 skill areas at level 7-9) AND

Hi guys

I calculated my points by CRS calculator, and it gave me 50 points for CRS - Skill Transferability - Foreign Work Experience. But after I submitted my express entry profile, I checked my application, and I have earned only 26 points for CRS - Skill Transferability - Foreign Work Experience.

Is that make sense?!!!
My IELTS score covers clb 7 for all the skills, and I have more than three years of foreign experience, and my job position is NOC A.

Hi,
I am a little bit confused here by the skill transferability section.

I only received 25 points for each section as per the picture while my English marks are above 7 in all the section and I have more than 5 years foreign working experience.
How can I contact them to clarify such?
