Hi everyone,
I'm doing postdoc in Canada, and the NOC code for post is considered to be 4011, unfortunately the main duties for my postdoc mostly correspond with one of the NOC codes either 4012 or 2121. I also have several foreign work experiences in NOCs 4012 and 2121, but not in NOC 4011. If I want to get the enough point for my application, I must use NOC 4012 or 2121 to get the points of my foreign work experience. My question is thay could I use the latter NOC codes instead of NOC 4011? It is notable that I have to mention my job title in the letters both for my postdoc work experience and foreign work experience. These will be different. How can I get points for both? For postdoc, having a work experince after PhD will be counted, but my work experience was during my studies which I can use it for NOCs 4012 and 2121 and not for NOC 4011. It is require to mention that I'm doing postdoc based on obtaining LMIA in NOC 4011. The embassy has already issued my visa (work permit) with this NOC code.

Hello,

I have the same question. I am currently a postdoc in canadian university. My PhD is from outside the canada and I worked there as a graduate research assistant (NOC 4012) for 4 years. How can I make the use of NOC 4012 with my current experience as NOC 4011.

NOC 4011 experience only started after the PhD. How about experience that we did during or before PhD? I also used NOC 4011 in my work permit application.
