40 year old self employed will qualify?

Hello to All,

I am a 40 year old self employed man with spouse and two kids. I just got my IELTS result (L=6, W=5, R=6.5, S=7, Overall = 6). I am a commerce graduate and working as a self-employed since last 15 years. If any one can tell me, is I m an eligible for PR of Canada?

I´m 42 and still with a lot of hope The key is you being able to collect all required documentation to prove your facts to CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada) . As for self employed I don´t know which papers prove it.

And also you have to check in which program you qualify, for Federal Skilled Worker, or for Federal Skilled Trade, etc.

You have to read a lot but there´s hope, there are threads in this forum about how to apply, look for them in this same page.

1. Your language score makes you ineligible for EE.
2. You could look at Self employed if

"Relevant experience for a self-employed person means at least two years of experience.

It must be during the period starting five years before the day you apply and ending on the day we make a decision on your application. The experience must be:

for cultural activities:
two one-year periods of experience in self-employment in cultural activities, or
two one-year periods of experience in participation at a world class level in cultural activities, or
a combination of a one-year period of experience described in A above, and a one-year period of experience described in B above.
for athletics:
two one-year periods of experience in self-employment in athletics, or
two one-year periods of experience in participation at a world class level in athletics, or
a combination of a one-year period of experience described in 1 above, and a one-year period of experience described in 2 above, and
for buying and managing a farm, two one-year periods of experience managing a farm."

I was 45 when I came to Canada, but I got a job offer ( with LMO) . 2 years ago.
Feel very well here, but because I was self employed in my own country, I had to show what I did and how long, and to give statement from people or company's who hired me that time. That worked, it was approved after 3 months.

Employer did LMO, the rest of application was for myself.
I came here with spouse and children who had to apply for visitor or study. I did it all in the same application, and after arrival, a couple monthes later my children over 14 got their work permit too.
