Hello folks,

Applied 2nd Feb'09 to NS got AOR 16th Feb. Need to submit docs to London.

1. Police Certifcates: I am based in Dubai but am Indian. I already have the Police clearance certificates for self/spouse for Dubai but the Indian consulate could take upto 40 days to arrange the same. Can I in the interim send all requested docs and then have the police clearance from India added at a later date?

2. IELTS Test report: An original has been requested but I have only one original test report form. I have my doubts that they will accept a notarized copy but any confirmation to this end will be helpful. Does IELTS send test reports directly to the immigration office in London?

3. Notarization of documents: Asked this in Trackitt as well. If my documents are already attested from a Notary in India, would this be sufficient for the Immigration authorities in London? Can documents originating from Dubai also be notarized from India (for example copy an employment contract, copies of bank statements etc?)
Simply put it’s much cheaper and less complicated to get documents attested as true copy in India than in many other places.

4. Employment letters: I have arranged a simple letter from my company dated sometime in Jan'09 regarding my role, designation, start date & salary. It does not have any rosy recommendations simply becuase I don't wanna tell my employer about my intentions to move. Would this letter suffice? How long is a letter of reference valid? The one that I have in Jan'09 would suffice? If I support this with bank statements till feb'09, I guess it should prove that am still gainfully employed? Do I need to also send a notarized copy of my employment contract as well?

Too many questions but am sure any replies would benefit many people with similar queries.

Cheers and good luck to all!

1. CIC says send all documents in one pkt. PCC from India is must since you are Indian citizen.
2. IELTS has to be original certificate.
3. Your contract and Dubai papers must be notorised in Dubai. All other certicates can be done from India.
4. Your reference letter is valid (jan 09) . It must however detail your job description according to your NOC.

hi

Buffalo office asks for a notarized copy of the employment contract AND a letter. It shouldn't have any rosy recommendation, unless you want the recommendation on English. Then again you are doing IELTS, so it should be okay.

As far as I can know, they can accept notarized copy from anywhere. It might seem suspicious so the chance of you being asked for an interview goes higher and you might have to take your originals to show it.

I am not aware that the notarization has to be from the same country.

thanks for all your inputs guys.

1. Police Report: The Indian Consulate here has promised to send it though by ealy next week, so gues I will wait for them to fulfill their promise and send everything in 1 go.
2. IELTS: Well they are not consitent in procedures across regions. The center here says they will only give the test taker 1 original and no more. So either you part with it or you place a request and they will send it to CIC London Directly. This is what I aksed them to do yesterday, so hopefully CIC will get it and attach it to my application. I asked them to put my file number as reference when they send the results.
3. Employment contract: Am still finding a way to have it notarized. Will update this as/if I find a way to get this done. My letter of reference simply states my role, tasks, starting date of employment and monthly and annual salary. So hopefully a letter dated in January'09 is not an issue since I started wotk in Sep'07.
4. Another question: Is it okay for one to apply for admission to a Canadian Uni while PR is under process. Although I already hold a Canadian MBA, I want to take up some additional courses in Accounting since the economy is not all that attractive anyhow. Am hoping that my PR would come through by then (Sep'09). Question is that would this student application/status hinder my PR in any way? I though it should only benefit since its taking up additional studies and prepare for better emplyability in Canada. Any comments?
