4.5 yrs of Exp and Seneca Database application Developer

Hi

I am havng 4.5 yrs of work Exp as linux and Database Admin. I want to pursue Database Application Developer program from Seneca. I want to know am i eligible for that and can i get international student visa for a graduate certificate program having that much of experience. How much work permit i can get after the course and how is the IT job Market there. Similar profilers please guide if any.

I have done B.tech in computer Science in 2008 with 70% Since then i am working and having a total experience of more than 4 yrs now. I want to go canada and get settled and i think going through studies is the best option. I cannot afford 2 yrs masters program due to funds and time limit.
So i have shortlisted some PG Diploma programs and found Seneca Database application Developer suitable for according to my Profile. Similar programs are also available in Humber and Sheridan colleges.
Some consultants told me that since you already have 4 yrs exp the odds for getting the visa for PG Diploma courses are less.

I can't say any thing about "experience" role in rejection but PG diploma after graduation is ok...........

Those agents are rubbish.Your profile seems to be pretty good to get visa. Go ahead with PG if you are from INDIA.
The more work experience you have,pretty good chances to shaw home tie to the V.O.

today my agent told me that this year canada is rejecting many visa application nd if you got the visa you will get 1 yr work permit nd then also u will not get PR.
Instead he is saying since my profile is gud i must go for masters for 2 yrs.

I agree with your consultant. With that much experience, applying for a 1 year PG diploma from a college like Seneca will raise a red flag and you will be fighting a losing battle to prove that your intentions are to study and comeback. Also 1 year course = 1 year work permit and yes that is not enough time to get a PR.

I also strongly advise a 2 year masters program. There are plenty of options, I'm sure you can find one in your budget.. and if "time constraints" are an issue then you will never get a PR.
