I've 3 years gap after highschool. In those three years i did nothing but study for the medical entrance exam neet and failed each time.

I have no motivation to pursue medicine anymore and would like to apply study visa for Canada to study cs.

Now, how should i explain the three year gap?

I have the admit cards and results of all three attempts of my entrance exam. World they be enough?

Is 3 year gap too much in my case?

Will i get rejected?

More info-

Grade 12 marks - 64% in science stream.

Thank you!

I think that three years spent preparing for your medical school entrance exam constitute a study period. I don't see as a gap. Did you take the prepare with an institute that issue a receipt or registered you as a candidate? Since you have the three attempts results, you should be good. It also depends on your age. The success of your application will depend on how much you're able to convince the VO with documents, SOP, Proof of finance, ielts if required, etc.

I was part of a institute for 1 year but its not a big institute. Next two years i studied on my own. I'l ask my institute teacher if he can arrange some receipts.

As for age im 21 year old right now and will turn 22 on April and my year gap will actually reach 3rd year on April.

Im financially sound and have full confidence on my English skills so i don't think they will cause a problem. Im just worried about my year gaps.

One more thing concerning me is that im embarrassed to mention my results for explaining my year gap as i got very bad scores on them.

Do you think they will judge me because of my entrance exam result that im gonna use for explaining year gap?

I don't think VO are interested in your scores, but explanation/reason for the gap. All you need is to disclose the gap and the academic activities you have been taken towards the continuation of your career. For example, some student attend IELTS classes. Just try your best to convince the Immigration staff that you are bonafide student and merit a study permit.
