I'll be coming to the end of my first year in Canada on the IEC program at the end of June, and have been told I need to apply for another IEC if I wish to continue. I've read that the IEC has changed slightly for UK citizens, in that we'll now receive 24 months instead of 12 months (and if the person has done 12 months - like myself, they're able to jump onto the 24 month IEC for their second participation).
My question is, I've read on the CIC website, that there might be a wait period before the end of my first IEC participation: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?q=926&t=25
Does anybody know what the situation is with this, and if I would indeed need to leave the country for a number of months before returning?
