2024 timeline for hearing date ontario

May I know what is the wait time for a refugee case to get hearing date in Ontario in 2024 ?
I got my interview and brown paper on feb 2024 and since then m just waiting ….

Depends on your case, if its less complex (your country of origin, the reason like LGBTQ, political etc. And the way you entered Canada) you will likely get a hearing date under a year 8-10 months, but if its a normal process it takes 1-1,5 years and if its complex it takes 2+ years.

My country of origin is Pakistan and I believe it is included but my lawyer didn’t say anything if my case is accepted as less complex or not yet he said it won’t take long and I would get a hearing date likely in Jan or feb 2025, m just in haste due to my family issues.
what should I do ?
my lawyer is not very cooperative.

I don’t want to give you any fake hopes, but the time your lawyer gave you seems pretty reasonable. I hope everything goes well for you.

You would be lucky if you got a hearing date in Jan 2025.
Usually expect a hearing date after 2 years of claiming asylum.

I mean this is something only told by my lawyer, idk on what basis though but yes I would love to b this lucky.

No one waits for 2 years these days, unless your case is really complex
