Hi all,
My wife and I just got married last month in Canada.
I'm a Canadian Citizen, and my wife is currently living with me in Canada, so we are preparing an Inland Application.
I have some questions regarding the Document Checklist, page 6, Proof of Relationship to Sponsor.
In the top section of the page 6, because we are living together, we have to provide documentation from 2 of the following 3 sets of options:
1. Joint ownership of residential property...
2. Proof of joint utilities accounts...
3. Important documents for you and your sponsor showing the same address...
In the bottom section of the page 6, because we did not answer yes to all 4 questions, we have to provide 1 document from 3 of the following sets of options:
1. Joint ownership of residential property...
2. Proof of joint utilities accounts...
3. Important documents for you and your sponsor showing the same address...
4. Important documents for you and your sponsor showing that you are recognized...
5. Documentary evidence of financial support...
6. Other proof that your relationship is recognized...
My first question here is about the overlap between the top section and the bottom section. The first 3 sets in the bottom section is exactly same as the sets in the top section. Let's say I included joint electricity account for the top section. Can I use this same joint electricity account for the bottom section as well? In this case, do I need to provide 2 same copies of paper showing the joint electricity account (1 for the top section and 1 for the bottom section), or just 1 copy of paper for both the top and bottom sections? OR because I used electricity for the top section, do I have to provide gas or telephone for the bottom section?
Second question: I believe internet services are generally considered the same as the telephone. Will joint internet account count as the proof of joint utilities account?
Third question: For the bottom section, it says 1 document from 3 sets. Is this a minimum? Can I provide more than 1 document from more than 3 sets?
Fourth question: For Important documents for you and your sponsor showing that you are recognized as each other's spouse (such as employment or insurance benefits), I have an email chain that shows conversation between myself, my company's HR department, and the benefits company, regarding adding my wife to my account for the company insurance/benefits. They say my wife is added to my account so I can start making claims for her, but the policy itself will still show just my name and not my wife's name. Will this email chain count for this point?
Fifth question: Documentary evidence of financial support..., I have a flight itinerary showing both our names with a single total payment made by me. Does that count?
Sixth question: For Other proof that your relationship is recognized...(...social media information showing a public relationship, etc.), if I capture and print my Facebook's "About" me page showing that I'm married to my wife since last month, does that count?
Thank you very much in advance.
Regards,
