2 years WP expiring, Leaving Canada. Can still apply ??

Hi Everyone,

My 2 years Work Permit is expiring after 3 months and
I will have to leave Canada after that (Employer not extending the WP ).

My Question :

1. Can I apply for PR under CEC as i have full 2 years Canadian experience as an IT Programmer Analyst ?
2. If yes, what will happen to my application as I will not be in Canada anymore ?
3. Any suggestions what should be my course of action.

You can apply as soon as you have the required experience, but not before.

It does not matter if you leave Canada. Once you qualify, if you leave your job/Canada, you have 1 year to apply.

A) If you apply BEFORE you leave Canada, you submit your application to CIC-Buffalo. Make sure you put on your application an an email address that you will continue to use once you leave Canada. Use a MAILING address of someone who will be willing to forward any mail to you. After you receive your file number, you can submit a change of address to update CIC with your new address in your home country.

B) f you apply AFTER you return to your country, you submit your application to the visa office that serves your country (it will then be forwarded to Buffalo for processing).

I can do the option A but will there be any impact if applied from my Home country, like delay in processing etc.

Maybe, maybe not. Impossible to say.

The only thing you might want to think ahead for, is, if you are selected for an interview, generally you have to attend in the USA. Few CEC applicants are required to do an interview, but you should be aware it is a possibility.
