I started working on 28th april right after i was done with my program. My PGWP came into force on 15th may. My question is, will these 15 days count for CEC as i was not studying in may and working full time?
No, those two weeks do not count. Any experience gained on a PGWP is counted.aneelkanth said:I started working on 28th april right after i was done with my program. What date did you graduate? Check your Graduation Certificate, it should say on which date you graduated. Typically it will be last day of your last semester. Now If your graduation date was on or before April 28th & if you had valid off-campus work-permit during that time then it will be taken into consideration Other wise no.aneelkanth said:I started working on 28th april right after i was done with my program. Yes it does counts only if you have graduated. It not you need Graduation Certificate but what you need is some kind of letter or certification from college which can confirm that you graduated before April 28th. Go through OP25a. It give you all information you want. Below is linkaneelkanth said:Thanks for your replies.
I got my results on 26th April stating "recommended for graduation"
I aquired a formal letter from my college stating the same and applied for PGWP.
I have not received my graduation letter yet. It should come in the mail sometime soon.
I really think this might count because my transition was very smooth. I had a valid off campus work permit; i quit my part time job and started working full time from 28th April.
I wanted to confirm this information as i read somewhere in the forums that "any full time experience attained after finishing education counts towards CEC."

Go through point 10.11 which more is descriptive on page 9.maniac2403 said:From OP25a,
For a student who had graduated from a Canadian post-secondary institution, only work
experience gained after graduation will count towards meeting the work experience
requirement (e.g., post-graduate work permit).
The highlight in red says those two weeks will count, but the highlight in navy says it might not. Better to be safe than sorry, and get 2 additional weeks of work before you apply.
Aah, good to know! But definitely get two more weeks, just to be 100% sure.Goku said:Go through point 10.11 which more descriptive on page 9.
It says :
Note: The “Employment Requirements” listed in the NOC occupational description are not applicable.
Any period of employment during which the applicant was engaged in full-time study will not be included in calculating the period of qualifying work experience (e.g., work experience gained through co-op work permits, off-campus work permits while a full-time student and on-campus work permits). [R87.1(3)(a)]. Officers should verify the work permit information in GCMS.
Area highlighted in red means if you are not a full-time student/graduated then you experience will count. He was not a full-time student as on April 28th when he started working full-time.
I totally agree that adding additional two weeks of more experience will not harm you at all.
