Hi All,

I had worked for 3 different companies in the span of 1 year. In one of the company I worked for 10 month and them 2 months were 15 hours per week and remaining months were full time which is 40 hrs.
In the second company worked for 4 weeks(1 month)
presently I’m continuing in my third company

Can I count those 2 months part time experience as 1 month full time experience.

over all 1st company 36 full time weeks+ 5 part weeks
2nd company 4 full time weeks
3 rd company 10 full time weeks until the date of ITA

please clarify. If my hours/ weeks were satisfied requirement

You don't count like that. What you need to do is count the hours of every single week of experience and add them up. The moment they add up to 1560 hours then you are good to go.

HOWEVER, for each week you are only allowed to count up-to the first 30 hours you worked that week.

For instance let's say you worked 10 weeks as follows: 40+40+40+40+40+40+40+40+15+23
  • If you add these hours they would add up to 358 hours over 10 weeks --> however, this is not correct for IRCC purposes
  • For IRCC purposes, since you can only count up-to the first 30 hours of each week you would be looking at this:
    • 30+30+30+30+30+30+30+30+15+23=278 hours over 10 weeks.
  • For this reason is that you need at least 52 weeks (or 1 year) of full-time work experience (30 hours or more per week).
    • 52 weeks * 30 hours/week= 1560 hours
    • You cannot reach this 1560 minimum before the 52 weeks.
You shouldn't be counting the months but you should be worried about the weeks. Add them 1 by 1 following the rule above and once you've reached 1560 hour you are good to go.

Thanks for such a clear explanation. However, if I count the way IRCC calculates (as per your detailed information). I am short of 20 hours for 1560 at the date of ITA received(which is 23rd of this month and I am still working in the third company) .
Does it really that risk to go head with those those shortage of hours or I have to decline the ITA and need to be in the pool again.
My CRS score is 481, due to some reasons I already declined my ITA once and if I decline now this will be my second time.

Please suggest.

No, it's doesn't matter YOU DON'T need to decline your ITA.

You just need to make sure you submit the full application only once you've reached the 1560 hours. Because you cannot provide specific dates for the system to calculate your experience is it very common for people to receive their ITAs a few weeks before they're actually eligible. No need to worry about this.

If you were just 20 hours short, you should have been good to go about a week after the ITA was sent out.

Great, I got ITA on 23rd and planning to submit my application in the end of this week. But in some of the immigration pages I found that one should complete "Minimum eligibility criteria" by the date of ITA received. However I am short fall of few hours by the date of ITA received due to some reduced hours due to covid, I hope it will be fine. Please suggest

Thank you very much for your valuable reply.
