I'm from England, in the United Kingdom, and i'm 17 years old..
My boyfriend lives in Canada and i'm hoping to move some point next year to be with him.
I don't have a job here but obviously i'll be looking for work over there seeing as i'll be living there.
Would my age be a problem, and do i need to find a job over there before i move, or after?
I basically know nothing, i just need to move to canada!
Preferably, Calgary, Alberta.

PLEEEEASE REPLY.
I'm so lost D:
Thanks,
Emma.

Dear Emma, you little saucy tart.....there are couple of things you need to keep in mind when immigrating. Your boyfriend has to sponsor you as a common law partner. In order for him to do that you have to show that you lived with him for atleast 1 year. Not having a job really dosent help as the last thing immigration wants is for you to come here and look for a job. The legal age for marriage in Canada is 18 without the consent of parents, so you my child have 1 year to go. You could have your boyfriend come to U.K, and get married and then apply as an outland application. Now assuming marriage laws are same in Canada as they are in UK wrt minor otherwise you'll have to wait 1 year. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.......... Until then as the Brits would say "tata love"

Alternatively she could apply for a BUNAC visa that would allow her to come here for a year to work without having to get married or be sponsored.

Yes - but I think that will work for her since she's not planning a move until next year.

I would as Scylla suggested, when you turn 18 you can apply. It is a International Experience permit. You can come to Canada for 1 year under an open work permit which allows you the freedom to work wherever you like. If after the year you and bf are still living together and the relationship is progressing he can sponsor you for Permanent Resdience as a common law partner as Newtone pointed out.
