$1500 per month for a supervisor ? underpaid ?

I'm an indian, studied diploma in engineering and 3+ years indian experience
I just got a job offer as a supervisor in a company in Toronto. The salary is $1500 per month with Food and accommodation provided and yearly paid vacation.... is it a good for me to start up in canada ?
i'm not coming with my family...
how much will it cost me for other expense like transportation, mobile, internet, personal care, weekly restaurants etc..
i'm ok with low cost services and products except food..
Please advice...
Also how much do i need to Pay income tax if required?
Also how about my work permit future? can i find another job while on the work permit and how much time it would take to get PR

Has the employer been granted an LMIA?

Given that this pay is probably at or even below minimum wage, as we don't know how many hours are to be worked in a month, I would be extremely surprised if a LMIA exists or is granted. The salary quoted *could* be legal, as accommodation & food are included (according to the OP). However, there are limited fields where this is legal/acceptable (hospitality, off the top of my head), & the OP hasn't given enough information to answer the question properly...

In Ontario the minimum wage rate is $11 per hour. if you have a full time job most companies offer 40 hours per week. Gross salary per month becomes $1.906 and after tax deductions it should be $1,614 per month. That is when i am talking about minimum wage.

As of 1st October, the Ontario minimum wage is $11.25.
