I think the MP that represents the district something like that. No I didn't set an appointment I just went there after my work. We're lucky that he has an office here in our place. But I never met him it's just the secretary that entertained me and they were very helpful. I almost cried to them to explain in the immigrating about my expiring passport. And I think the secretary got pity on me.

Thank you for sharing that. I will try our MP in about 2 weeks. I just sent an email under "case specific inquiry". Good thing you are still logging into the forum even after the granting of your visa.

MP is a member of parliament, they can help. They asked for our passports me and my kid last May 2013 and asked me to send appendix A and a new NBI clearance. Then July they asked for new medicals. Since our passport will gonna expire April 2014 I went to MP (good the office is just near our place) I talked to the secretary to know the status of my application. Week passed I went back to MP to know the result. She said she called and the immigration and told her that I should wait till October (2013) since it was still in the processing time, that time it was 12 mos. I told the other secretary that I cannot wait anymore cause my passport will gonna expire and I cannot book a ticket to go home. I cannot even renew it cause it was in manila embassy and I am here in Canada. I was begging them to talk and explain my problem to the immigration she promised to call. Two days letter she called and wanted to talk to me. She told me that i will get my visa end of august. First week of September I was DM and 3 days after visa issued.

I am Anrose , a Filipina . Need help pls on some info you posted. I have the same situations as yours , I am currently here in Toronto but i have an outland family applcn at CEM (filed Sept2013) . . I plan to wait for my PRvisa here in Canada ... Can you pls advised me the address of the MP who help you ? I what to ready myself in case my passport will take long in Manila before visa will be issued & i am waiting here in Toronto .... It is a very difficult situation to be in a foreign country w/out pasport for several months.. ...

Another thing . Upon issuance of your PR visa , did you go back to Phils then back to canada ?

I am here in Alberta and I asked the help of MP near our place. I don't know if you can ask help since you have different MP anyways if you want to try google him Brian Storseth. I didn't meet him personally but his secretaries are very accommodating they were the ones who called the immigration.

I used outland, when the CEM-Manila asked for PP I sent mine to my sister-in-law in the Phil so she can send our PP to CEM-Manila. Then when they returned the PPs with visa, I went home to get my kid then landed in Vancouver.
