Hello everyone,
I am student who has been accepted for an exchange semester in Canada starting this January. I applied for and received a study visa for this purpose.
In the meantime, I also applied for a Mitacs internship and was accepted for the offer. Normally, for Mitacs, applicants apply for a visitor visa and request a visitor record with a 120-day work permit exemption. However, this exemption cannot be requested from within Canada.
Since I already have a study visa, I'm unsure what to do next.
Can I Ask for this exemption if i leave and re enter canada with the Study visa ? Or should i Ask for a work permit ? Or else ?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
