Good evening everyone,

My wife and I are going to start our application soon and I would like to have more information about the continuous work experience. My wife will be the main application and she currently has 3 years of work experience under the B category.
However, she started working for a multinational company in December last year in a totally different NOC that seems to be of high demand in a few provinces of Canada so we decided to put this NOC as the main one and to apply to different provinces for provincee nomination.

However, due the covid situation, there were a few lockdowns here in Europe for a few weeks over the course of 12 months and all employees of her company had to stay home during the lockdown (1.5 months in March, 3 weeks in November and 2 weeks in December). Her work contract has been valid ever since she signed it back in December last year so she has been continuously employed ever since. Do you think it's best to wait until she makes up for the 2-3 months she hasn't worked and apply in March/April or should we consider it's been a continuous year without any lockdown breaks? What are your thoughts?

Also, she worked 28 hours per week in May due to the covid situation so she was kind of working part-time.

I understand that Canada want applicants to have 12 month of continuous work but this is kind of a global pandemic? Do you think they would be strict in regards to the continuous regulations in this specific case?

Thank you

IRCC hasn't announced any exceptions to the continuous rule. So yes, they are still being strict about it.

If you want to apply now, your wife could use her previous NOC where she already has a full year of continuous work experience.
