10th Standard CARD instaed of Birth Cerificate

Hello Experts
I have been watching this for quite some time now. I have only the 10th Exam CARD as the proof of my birth. My wife is the principle applicant under 1122, myself IT worker.
Can I send the 10th Exam as the proof of my birth?

Last year some people wrote to CHC New Delhi regading this and got a positive response. Which they then attached with their application.

I have already written to CHC New Delhi on Delhi-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca but the link on the auto response says that they will only respond if I have already applied.

So any of you know any contact where I can expect to get a response?

i dont know hows your 10th exam card, but you can send english or bilingual school leaving certificate as proof of birthdate or birth certificate both are valid and genuene certificate.

for indian, Pakidstani, Bangali applicants they do accept 10th certificate....just explain the reason for not being able to produce Birth certificate and submission of matriculation certificate...

Not all state in India print DOB on 10th certificate, my don't have, better get school leaving certificate.

The answer is not one way. Some have posted that they were accepted without a Birth Certificate and some have reported that their applications were returned due to lack of BC.

So its a double edged sword. Try to get a letter from the Birth Certificate office that there is no record of you of Birth OR you can also try to register yourself (offcourse date will be of now), but, you can add a letter explaining why this has happened (Parents didnt register).

Anyways I will be worried if I sent application without Birth Cert, rest is off course your choice.

@ Devil, my father birth record lost due-to old offices in 1945's , floods, changes in govt. etc, but my father registered in court and get birthcertificate based on school leaving certificate, now his Passport, Birthcertificate based on school leaving even USA visa applied for family immigration.
I sent school leaving certificate to CIO and CHC , my one is accepted as proof of birth. in India registration and getting NOC from birth/death department of municipal corporation is time consuming, but if you pay bribe or some contacts there than you will get it in the week or next day, same with the court, actually lawyer will work for you in court, you have to go(present in front of courst judge or sahebjii) when lawyer called you for signature and verification of person birth record.
as I mentioned he can send school leaving certificate as well in original or notarized.

I guess its the same back home as well (in Pak). A very tedious exercise....
Nevertheless try to at least get a no record letter from the office, so that it makes your application strong on the Birth Certificate front. Otherwise no choice but to send other documents.
Try to email the owners of this website (good legal team, I guess) and ask what to do, may be they will advice better than us, for some fee or like that.

Please do not risk by just sending the 10th certificate instead of the birth certificate. Last year , when we submitted our application, my husband too didnt have a birth certificate. We presumed they would accept the 10th certificate, but our application was returned due to missing birth certificate of spouse.

If birth certiifcate is missing, you should may be prepare an affidavit and also clearly mention in the cover letter that the birth certificate is unavailable and that an affidavit is attached.
