10-year Multiple Entry Visa - Documents required at point of entry?

Hi everyone,

My boyfriend obtained a 10-year multiple entry visa to Canada just under 1 year ago and has since visited and returned home. He is planning on returning again this April during a 3 week study break. My question is what kind of documentation does he need when returning with this visa? When he arrived the last time, he came with a letter of invitation, bank statements, itinerary, proof of schooling etc. Does he need to obtain these documents again when re-entering the country?

Thanks in advance for anyone that has advice. Trying to find this information through the gov't website has proved impossible. No information whatsoever regarding re-entering on this type of visa yet I am skeptical that he won't need to have these things with him.

Cheers!

Did they ask for this at the point of entry? My guess is that they didn't.

There is no answer for this. You can get an immigration officer in a bad day that requests a lot of proofs, or a nice guy which will just put a seal on his passport just by asking "what are you going to be doing here?". Plain luck.

If you want to play it safe then provide him with an invitation letter with detailed info on how to reach you, where are you planning to stay and what is your relationship with him. Also if you have return tickets bought bring them with you (hard copy) and if you have an itinerary this will also help.

Is this enough? No way to tell as I explained.
