    OCTOBER 2020 OUTLAND Spousal Sponsorship

We finally have the PR card in hand. This is a brief description for anyone else who may be in a similar situation, contemplating a "soft landing" from the US. COPR arrived in September of 2021. We currently live in the US and aren't yet ready to move. We decided to do a "soft landing" since...

If you hold a passport from a Visa exempt country (i.e. you would otherwise not require a Visa to visit Canada) then you only send a photocopy of your passport + two updated photos. Otherwise you have to send your actual passport + two updated photos. Read the PPR email again. Then read it...

    OCTOBER 2020 OUTLAND Spousal Sponsorship

NOTE: what I write below applies only if you applied from within the United States... You basically have it right (I just went through this and received the COPR via return FedEx today). The only correction for what you have is that #7 is done when you do #5... BUT you must state in the email...

    OCTOBER 2020 OUTLAND Spousal Sponsorship

I could use clarification on the PPR instructions. My wife (the applicant) holds a US passport (therefore is visa-exempt). I (sponsor) and our daughter each have Canadian passports. The PPR instructions say to send 2 photos "of each person (principal applicant and each family member)" This is...

We were stuck there since April, and then suddenly a PPR.

How they respond appears to be so inconsistent. Since April the last status for us was "You passed the medical exam." and then silence. Now a letter arrives offering pre-arrival services. No "moved to visa office", no AOR2, just silence since April. Mind you we're not terribly bothered as my own...

So in this example, is there anything that confirms that they actually received the biometrics? (Date of Biometrics Enrollment is the date that biometrics were given, but the language does not imply confirmation of receipt)

    OCTOBER 2020 OUTLAND Spousal Sponsorship

What is the difference between the Biometrics Given and Biometrics Passed dates in the spreadsheet? I see that many people put the same date for both. In our case they were given electronically in the US at the ASC. So I just assume that they get sent electronically to IRCC. On the IRCC...

We did not receive a notification, you must check on-line to see if they've recorded it as passed. This showed up for us just a few days after the exam. It also depends if the doctor you used is on-line in their system or must send them paper.

    OCTOBER 2020 OUTLAND Spousal Sponsorship

As I mentioned earlier, they are prioritizing applications from Hong Kong and people exempt from travel restrictions. This is likely why you see some move so quickly. Lets keep in mind that the office was basically shut down for many months due to COVID-19. And... this is just the way some...

Check the helpful links in the very first post in this forum. The last link in that post also points to a very helpful post about GCKey and how and when to link it. There is also this link about how the overall outland sponsorship process works.

Is it possible to apply for Outland Family Class sponsorship on-line?

We received it. In our case it was sent to the Primary Applicant (not Sponsor). It basically says that they've removed the processing estimate progress bar. Such things are notoriously inaccurate anyway...

    OCTOBER 2020 OUTLAND Spousal Sponsorship

I think that some of it may just depend on simple "luck of the draw" with regard to how applications get pulled. For example, November and December applications seemed to get processed faster than October ones. However, there are also several things that I've read recently that may account for...

    OCTOBER 2020 OUTLAND Spousal Sponsorship

Hang in there. You don't get any acknowledgement until they enter your data and send you an AOR1, which for most of us here meant complete silence until this month, even while some December applications got AOR1s. Your best tool for updates is the Google Tracking Spreadsheet. See who's getting...

UPDATE: So I received the actual AOR1 email this afternoon, which says: So indeed they do seem to arrive out of order sometimes.

    OCTOBER 2020 OUTLAND Spousal Sponsorship

If you read the steps outlined in The Outland Sponsorship Process it is quite clear that I have not received an AOR1 message. There is an example of one cited in that explanation. However, I have also read elsewhere (cannot recall where now) that not everyone will get all notifications, and...

Do you have a copy of your receipt of payment of fees? You could work out from that, and the list of fees if you paid the correct amount. One possibility is that more than one person needs to give biometrics and you only paid the fee for 1 person.

The biometrics request letter contained the Application Number and the PA's UCI. The sponsor approval letter contained the Sponsor's UCI. I haven't received an AOR1 letter (only a sponsor approval letter). There was nothing called a "file number" but I presume that you actually mean the...

    OCTOBER 2020 OUTLAND Spousal Sponsorship

Finally received a confirmation today, but it was a request for biometrics and not AOR1 (as I understand it), but that's fine... 149 days since they received the application (it's entered in the spreadsheet) As I understand it AOR1 is sent to the Sponsor and the request for biometrics are sent...
