You won't see any update but once approved a new document will appear on your old PGWP application.

If you qualify for an extension longer than 18 months, it's best to leave that application pending, hopefully when they get to it, they cancel your valid PGWP and issue you a new one with more validity which is their standard procedure. 4 weeks based on what I saw here and on reddit.

Go back and ask to see the manager. Take your passport, letter of acceptance, and GIC instructions printout and ask to make the transfer to your GIC student account. They should make the transfer without an address.
