Nothing was referenced, just straight up refusal

It simply says: "I am refusing your application on the following grounds: • You do not hold a valid U.S. status."

I'm not sure but I'll try submitting a webform... nothing to lose. My application was processed in Ottawa

I submitted all of the above and still got a rejection. I will probably submit a request to reconsider pointing out to specific US regulations but at this point I don't think the decision will change unfortunately.

My EAD expired July 8, so my grace period began the next day

Unfortunately I can't apply from my home country because it's on lockdown due to Covid. I will have to apply for a change of status here while I wait for the lockdown to be lifted. I'm just not sure that a pending application to change status would make a difference
