From what i see in this thread, after the police verification initiated status it should change to status clear sent for processing. But in my case even before police verification happened it changed to application under review at consulate.

Hi i checked with my college and they told i have to apply a new study permit if i am outside canada.. you can apply a new one before the old one expired based on the processing time now.. so its advisable you apply a few months before it expires
