    I believe the IRB western region main office in Vancouver were still working during the lockdown as I received a letter from them in the beginning of May stating that I was selected for the file review process.

    Refugee claimant Moving from Ontario to BC

    I think you do not need to transfer your file. Just inform the IRB about your new address and they will arrange for the hearing in your new location even if it is done through videoconference. This is what I was told by my lawyer when I asked about moving provinces. But you need to double check.

    Yes they asked for supporting documents but the letter states the documents will only be actioned once hearings are resumed so no one should expect to receive decisions anytime soon

    It actually depends on your nationality as well. Claimants from countries with emergency crisis can get approved in 6-9 months without even a hearing. And also can get a hearing in a short time.

    I applied in Alberta in February and I am also from the expedited countries list but I have not heard anything from them yet. Maybe it differs from a province to another.

    I have seen a lot of people getting notifications regarding their PR applications from IRCC which means that they are still working, but has any refugee claimants heard from the IRB since the start of the pandemic? I just want to know if they are still working on cases.
