Applying for citizenship separately vs. as a family

Hi! Both me and my wife have PR and I will become eligible to apply for citizenship by December 2023 whereas my wife has to wait for the year after it. I have two questions: 1. Can I apply for citizenship by myself as soon as I’m eligible or I have to wait for my wife too and apply together...

Does remote work count as Canadian work experience (working from home within Canada)?

No, the 2 months won’t be counted as Canadian experience. If she was working remotely within Canada (for a canadian company), only then would it be counted.

No, it’s not considered Canadian experience. You have to be working for a company that is based in Canada.

Can I apply SOWP for my spouse if his nationality is different from mine?

    1. Not sure about this one, but if he can't apply with you, then the second option is for him to wait until you get your open work permit and then he can apply for SOWP. 2. No, but if IRCC suspects that the relationship isn't genuine, they will ask for additional supporting documents such as...

    Can PPR deadline be extended?

Hi, I received the Passport Request for my wife 2 weeks ago for PR. Unfortunately, her passport was damaged a few days before that so she had to apply for a new passport. The PPR mentions that the passport must be submitted within 21 days, otherwise, we have to raise a web form. I don't think...

You need to chill, you'll get it eventually. IRCC takes time with everything and there's nothing you need to worry about.

I got the credentials within 1 working day. But haven't received COPR yet.

PR Confirmation Portal- Account already by mistake before IRRC email

That will not work. Once you get COPR, your temporary permits and visas are no longer valid.

PR Confirmation Portal- Account already by mistake before IRRC email

I think you will get COPR within that period. However, do NOT travel until you get your PR card. If you travel without a PR card, coming back to Canada will be extremely hard because your COPR can't be used to re-enter Canada.

Anywhere from a few days up to a month, it's random.

PR Confirmation Portal- Account already by mistake before IRRC email

No worries. Since you already have an account in the PR portal, they will not send you an email containing the login credentials. However, they will create your case in that account. It's not like they'll ignore you or anything like that. You just have to check constantly to find out when it's...

Leaving and re-entering Canada while on Implied Status

You are now on implied/maintained status. If you travel, I believe that you will lose this status and won't be allowed to work once you come back. Read the section "Traveling During Maintained Status" here: https://gooselaw.com/uncategorized/maintaining-status-inside-canada/
