Josephs, my application was received by Pretoria on July 27th, I did my medical on September 28th, and Pretoria started processing my case on October 11th (also changed the status to Processing). I know it seems like a long time, I think they wait till you send all your info, medical, police...

Pretoria Received my meds as well and it seems the new processing center for out-land applications is London, England. They might do dual processing for a while as doctors might still send some to Nairobi.

Hi, I had my meds done in Cape Town as well. It was done at the end of September 2011 and was sent to London via courier. The doc office check with the Courier and the Canadian High Commission received it within 3 days.

I just checked with the doc and they seemed confused, apparently if you state that you are applying for permanent residency they assume the VO must send a medical request for, but for spousal applications it works differently. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.

Thanks PMM for the info, last I checked with the local Canadian Doctor here in Cape Town, the Visa Office is supposed to send a medical request. I will contact the doc again.
