It is what it is ... my application received 1 May 2019 and I expect all to be done by September 2021

Received pre arrival letter in Nov. But then was asked to update pcc and travel and background. Now have been asked to update medical. Well if it is going to take another year to review the file again, I would prefer to delay medical to save some costs because obviously our file is very complex..

Oh for me, its time for background check.. Disgusting to have to do a police certificate AGAIN .. why the need for the first one.. just check eligibility which takes 18 months and the ask for these .. now they will probably be another medical... I guess this is a ploy to take out poor people...

Nice.. I also asked MP to bug them.. thats when I found out background checks are still pending... asked MP to raise issue of visitor visas to such complicated ppl like this one.. spouse n mother of Canadian citizens.. who require years of background checks !

Apparently London was giving essential services only upto now. Maybe that has changed? Background checks not completed in 17 months seems like a joke but it is real

Much longer .. potentially years longer. I have a 17 month old application and I am predicting it will go to at least 24, if not more..

Just got another reply from immigration. Background check not yet complete after 16 months. No available processing time. Only essential services being provided so I think now Jan is a very optimistic target, maybe have to think about Sept 2021 as possibly when it will be processed.

'your action is required' has not been updated though 'action' was done in March/April.

Well some applications are still in cold storage.. I don't anticipate ours to finish this year.. .!

I got an update that medical is not required at the moment. Given some people have got an updated passed status, I would imagine they will request it. Its like an application all over again.. and gckey is not fulfilling its use. I mean it is the same as before when you had in progress or...

Yeah.. its pointless.. just forget you applied and then one day it wil progress. Wondering if they are approving visitor visa these days as that might be only viable option ?

Better to give up than keep following up... I will look at the status maybe in September or December.. it has been 14 months already so all plan ruined anyway in terms of expectations

Has anyone applied for visitor visa and then go ahead and explained reason for urgency. Seems to be a process for it at IRCC. Maybe that's the only way through!

No news at all. IRCC staff cannot even review documents sent in electronic version for fear of Corona. Not sure but I have a feeling new immigrant applications express entry/student visa/refugees will take precedence and we will just have to wait. I don't see entering canada this year at least.

Better to pay rent for the whole year then. This will be a looong wait!

Plan December or early on in new year..

Just guessing on the 6 months but if no decision yet, it takes a couple of months after that to get passport stamp etc so I wouldn't plan anything less than 6 months..
