    COPR and coronavirus

I understand this, however right now, as in RIGHT NOW, this is not the time to spend time in the airports and travel back and forth between 2 countries. Who knows, things could hopefully stabilize in a month time and you'll be invited to do your soft landing without any repercussions. But if I...

    COPR and coronavirus

Yes they asked all CoPR holders whether they were planning to settle in Canada permanently. All those who didn't confirm that, were not allowed on the plane. You need to realize the insane situation going on right now. Both Dubai and Toronto airports that are usually packed, were completely...

    COPR and coronavirus

1 - I gave the address of a friend in Montreal. And got a form which I can fax back (or do online) to change the address. I will probably do that as soon as I rent a place. 2 - I am also waiting to get a permanent address. I have already booked viewings for week 3 (first week out of quarantine)...

    COPR and coronavirus

No idea... As far as I know, only essential travel is allowed to Canada. So soft landings are discouraged right now. Toronto Pearson was a ghost town when we landed... HUGE contrast from last July when we traveled on holiday.

I had a one way ticket of course, was taking the cat with us which wouldn't make sense for someone doing a soft landing, and had to show our Airbnb booking to prove our quarantine plan.

Good luck! I know exactly what you're going through... Like I said, when they opened the flights I booked the very first flight with my eyes closed. We had a NIGHTMARE of a week getting ready for the flight but it was worth it... We're finally here

    COPR and coronavirus

Hello all! Just wanted to share our landing experience with everyone here We had been trying to catch a flight to Toronto from Dubai for a couple months now. After several cancellations, Emirates finally started regular flights to Toronto from May 22nd. We took that very first flight. We only...

I am also interested in this as I will be landing in 3 weeks (*crosses fingers*) In the SIN application form, we need to mention a permanent address. I am assuming the Airbnb address that I will be using for a month won't do. However I will need a SIN to pretty much do everything I need to do...

Newcomers - Checklist upon landing (Covid-19 edition)

@dr.josemrod Thanks for your replies Can you elaborate on 2 - SIN : Cannot be done in airport anymore as Service Canada offices are closed. Can only be done online. I took a quick look at the online application and it seems we need to mention a mailing address now. Considering my Airbnb...

Newcomers - Checklist upon landing (Covid-19 edition)

Hi everyone If all goes well, I will be landing in Toronto on June 1st with my family. I am well aware of the 2 weeks mandatory quarantine but thought I'd ask for advice from those who have already landed during these troubled times and who might shed some light on some of my questions. I am...

    COPR and coronavirus

Hello Can you please let me know when they preponed your flight to the 5th? Did they send you an email about it ? Do you think we have a chance of travelling on those dates? There is no sign anywhere of any flights happening other then repatriation flights to a select number of countries (not...

@saad_im @Ralino @FJK1982 @kenzakd Hello ! I am in UAE as well and getting tired or rescheduling flights weeks after weeks... I have a flight with Emirates booked on June 1st that is still confirmed despite the announcement that Emirates will only resume flights in July now... Calling their...

    COPR and coronavirus

I think no one can answer any questions currently. The person who answered your call might have been stressed from all the calls from angry/frustrated travelers... IRCC needs to urgently update their Covid-19 statement. It would only be logical to allow CoPR holders to travel to Canada. The...

Tried calling the Canadian embassy in Abu Dhabi (UAE) and couldn't get through. They were very clear that if I have any question pertaining to immigration or Covid-19, then I would need to contact them by email /web form only...

Corona Virus threat to Travel , COPR expires on 24th April 2020

Exactly. The only statemetn from IRCC so far is that people with CoPR who cannot travel needs to fill a web form. There is no mention regarding those who can actually fly over to Canada...

Are you serious? They obviously know what a CoPR is! What they don't know is how to handle the current situation considering IRCC has been very vague regarding CoPR holders' situation...

Well good luck trying to even reach your airline over the phone! I have been trying their number since this morning! It's Emirates Airlines and apparently they are swamped with calls related to flights cancellations/rescheduling...

    COPR and coronavirus

This is my exact problem. Allowing a passenger to board a plane is at the airline's discretion. I can't possibly show them these FAQs to convince them that I can do my landing!
