I received the request around a month ago. I did a little research in this thread and a couple other folks got it too. It can take 1-2 months to reach PP&L complete after document submission. So unfortunately this will be a speedbump in the already-slow citizenship application.

I agree with these answers. As a principle, PR Card ≠ PR Status. The card is used to enter Canada, so after your card's expiry, you will need to make alternate arrangements (Google "Enter Canada with an expired PR card") but remaining in Canada after PR card expiry is fine.

Hi! Asking for a friend who is 3 months away from PR card expiry, would it make a difference to apply with the current PR card or wait till the PR card has been renewed (i.e. wait 2-4 months)? Essentially, is the NEXUS application tied to the validity period of the PR card on file? I assume not...
