I applied under regular streaming or non-sds and I recently just got approved. In my point of view, it is much harder to comply the SDS and it doesn't mean 100% approval rate. But it really boils down to one's preference.

I had an error in my application as well but I did submit a webform saying that I made an error on my application. I just had to be sure because it's better safe than sorry. They recognized it and said they've added the information to my file. They responded in 3 days time.

I don't think status in Saudi has a big impact. I am on visit visa as well, it expired on October (while my study permit was still on process in the embassy) and had to extend another 3mos, so it would total 6mos.

It only shows the validity of biometrics wait for the other email that comes after that, it's the decision. But in my case I did not receive a second email. I went ahead to my GCKEY account and found out a day after the correspondence letter that I was approved.

UPDATE: Paper-based application Sept 18 - submitted application along with biometrics Sept 25 - linked application to GCkey Nov 18 - Correspondence Letter Nov 19 - no email but checked my GCkey, my application is APPROVED. Note: I did not do any medical exam and I am just on visit visa in Saudi.
