Thanks k.h.p! The application requests we submit his visa reference number with his paperwork, I assume then we submit his ETA documents (although it's reiterated that the ETA is not a visa) or simply submit nothing?

My common-law partner who is British has travelled into Canada with me and only required an ETA to enter into the country, just in case, we booked a return flight for the maximum 6 months tourist period. My understanding was that because he is British, he didn't need a visa to enter into Canada...
