https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1LxDFjvZn-XR9uZpGbPTORYKQf0BMquSXNw0RvmqvZNU/edit?usp=drivesdk According to the spreadsheet, a few people have gotten OWP. If you haven't used the spreadsheet before its a useful tool to keep track of what's happening with members in the forum. You can...

is there minimum income required to spnsor a spouse (Quebec)

For a "standard" (spouse with no other dependants) just spousal sponsorship there's no financial requirement as long as you're not on welfare. There's no financial proof to submit as far as I know. https://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/forms/search-title/undertaking-application/kit-a.html

    *** December 2020 Inland Spousal Sponsorship ***

As far as I understand it's not the real aor. AOR1 will have your permanent file number and if I'm not wrong aor2 is mostly for outland applications when they send it to the other visa office. With covid they've now added this "pre-aor" with temporary file number to reassure people that the file...

    *** December 2020 Inland Spousal Sponsorship ***

I am a November 2020 inland applicant and Recieved an "aor" email this morning. However it was just the "pre-aor" with the temporary file number. And specifically says "Next steps We will assess your application to ensure it is complete, and provide you with a permanent application number." Is...

    November 2020 / Inland Sponsorship

This file number is a temporary one and you will probably get your official file number in a few months (it's long!). It will be unlikely for you to be able to see your application online for another couple of months. If you see the spreadsheet linked at the beginning of the thread, you can see...

    November 2020 / Inland Sponsorship

I believe that if it's your first open work permit application then you have to submit them both together by mail (or you can submit the owp later, but still by mail). I think rules could be different if you have perhaps already had one in the past, or are extending a current work permit.

    Biometrics (Common Law Inland)

I was under impression that inland applications don't need biometrics. I'm finding conflicting answers all over the forum and government site. I'm sponsoring my wife inland, and she's from the USA. https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/biometrics.asp Says that we don't need to provide...

    Visiting USA

Yes! It was a painless process. Presented our marriage certificate at YUL on arrival and the border officer informed my wife she could stay for 6 months. We're in quarantine at home now

    Visiting USA

Currently in the same situation. (haven't yet sent in the spousal sponsorship application, but applied for extension in August). We visited immediate family in the US and flying back to Canada tomorrow. Fingers crossed! Will update if we encounter any issues

I hear you. For that part, she can claim residence in Canada with her employer. But as far as the IRS is concerned, that would not be true until she's officially a permanent resident here.

    Eligibility for common law sponsorship

Thanks for your replies! I like how active this forum is. I do consider myself lucky as her job has allowed for our relationship to continue and grow. Regarding time spent "living" together: how would the Canadian government treat the scenario if I was in the US and she still worked as a...
