Mentioning travel back to home country will be an overkill. I did not mention my travels to home country from US as it does not involve a different country than your home country and the country of residence

Well, to pay the fees you will use your credit card and when you do that they will know you have acredit card and you did not disclose it.

If you go in person, you get it on the same day. If you mail, it should take a week. It is safe to mail the documents, just use a mailing service with tracking number.

Generally you dont. login to your account and check. I did not get an email with details on the update. But i was checking the fedex packet. As soon as it was activated, i knew that the application is approved.

Did you try mailing the email address through whom you received request to resubmit the passport photos ?. Also, your application status after resubmitting the photos, has it changed ?
