Just to come back to this. Approved for B2 visa, I was able to accompany my wife and translate for her. Interview was only 1 min long but the wait to get there was 2.5 hours.

Figured since this for H-1B may not be same. I don't work or live in States, Citizen of Canada and just want to go visit US for family and wife has PR card and got B2 appointment. First time and curious if I would be able to accompany here.

My wife has an appointment for B1 visitor visa next month. Would I be able to go in with her as her English skills are not strong enough or is there normally a translator they use? Anyone know what questions are asked?

I wish you luck when, have you tried speaking to the consulate in Jeddah? I just know when I was working on my wife's papers no one was able to help besides telling me to wait. You can try reaching out to your local MP back in Canada.

Thank you for the info, H&C would not be an option for them as it's not the case. Will try Super Visa are those an easy option for parents or are they strict in approving that also?

Do you know when it will open again or how one can keep up with updates to know when to apply if it opens up again? I take it this the only way to sponsor parents?

There is no exact answer as the timeframe the posted can't be trusted. Mine took 8+ months to get.

Got caught up with work so didn’t get a chance. Good thing I didn’t. Happy to be done with this for a while. Hopefully next renewal they have gotten better at doing it.

Finally got the PR Card today after 8+ months. landed July 3, 2021. Never was able to link card through gckey or find it through ecas. Mailed out March 8 and received March 11.

Were you able to get a response back from the embassy?

Did not know I could even do that. More depressing knowing I have to wait longer. Will try this and see how it goes. Have nothing to lose beyond $50. Just hate no one gives you exact answers.

Out of ink? This has got to be the dumbest excuse I have ever heard as to why they can't print it. I can't even believe that is what you were told.

What amendment were you going to file? I am in the same boat as you. July 3, 2021 with no updates. I can't even link the application. Tried all the steps and even called with no help in linking it.

From what I have read when it is in person they most likely want to ask you questions.
