Well, there was no way of 'applying' for GSS. The application did not provide any way of indicating whether it was qualified for GSS.

I have applied LMIA-exempt NOC 4011 (postdoc) work permit on 26th March 2021 from India. Biometric done on 1st April and Medical passed on 9th April 2021. Since then, there is update (or ghost update) on the profile. Can my application be considered in GSS category?

I am not an expert on the matter, but I think there are many threads/posts here as well as elsewhere. You have to search for it. LMIA should only be valid when you apply for the work permit.

I haven't received any updates yet. I am not sure what happens when LMIA expires, but I have heard that it is not an issue.

I got my medical passed and biometric completed, but neither eligibility review nor background check started.
