So I finally got through to the IRCC. They have informed me that my PR has been approved :), but there is a backlog of issuing the CoPR letter. If I don't have anything by this time next week I should call them again. Nice to hear from someone official that it has been approved.

No, I did not call anyone. I was weary about it at first but then I asked some friends who received the same email and had got their CoPR letter, so I assumed it was legit. Just strange that we would not receive an update on our account. So in your opinion, is my PR approved?

That sounds good to me. I suppose it makes sense. I read somewhere that they only want to have your postal addresses. I was also afraid of it lapping over with my travel history. Even though I was travelling my address would still be my family home.
