I sent IRCC an email to ask the same question and they replied that AOR is needed to link paper application.

Maybe that's why they said the processing time is calculated from the day they received the application, not AOR date. I'm waiting for my AOR too (about 9 months now). Hope to receive some correspondance from IRCC soon.

I think the "permis de sejour" means the Study permit you used to study in Canada, covering your studying period.
